Tuskegee Airman LtCol John Harold Brown and his wife visit Liberty Aviation Museum

The Liberty Aviation Museum in Port Clinton Ohio hosted Tuskegee Airman fighter pilot retired LtCol (Dr.) Harold Brown and his wife tonight. When I began my journey to donate away my history collection, I had hoped to honor those that came before us as inspiration and I also wanted to inspire future generations. Tonight, Director of this museum Edward Patrick, hosted Col Brown, according to research is one of the last 11 living fighter pilot Tuskegee Airmen and he was able to see 28 signatures of fellow fighter pilots on 4 prints I donated 2 months ago. He told Ed it was like seeing old friends. He's also one of only 2 living Tuskegee POW's remaining. Dr. Brown spoke at the Museum and he's 96 years young! He signed prints I have donated.

I also recently donated historical items to the recently opened "Brown Condor" Mississippi Aviation Heritage Museum.

The long wait is over!

The Pentagon slowed me down, Covid 19 slowed me down. But after battling government censors and a pandemic, my debut book "Chained Eagle" is now available at Amazon online. This is such a great restoration!

The Jeep has been restored to what I think would have been used and marked by my Dad in the 5th Engineer Special Brigade at Omaha Beach during WWII. Notice the rack over the hood to carry two litters and the tick with reflector on that rotates out to warn oncoming traffic as the litter handles extend wider than the jeep normally.

The jeep is now in the shop and work has begun. Going to get a new paint job, correct stenciling, some engine work and a few other mods, and addition of a front rack to hold two stretchers. Should be complete in a couple of months, very exciting!

National Defense University Display and Opportunity

Current D-Day Display at prestigious National War College

On Friday, I visited Fort McNair in DC to look at some prints I had previously loaned for a 75th Anniversary of D-Day display. In the main image of the entrance area to the Theodore Roosevelt Building, you can see two of the prints flanking the doorway in the background. The print on the right by John Paul Strain depicts Brigadier Teddy Roosevelt coming ashore at Utah Beach, he would tragically die of a heart attack several days later. The picture above is "High Ground at Easy Red" artist James Dietz depiction of Omaha Beach and this is where my Dad came ashore on D+1. This print is signed by the artist and Private Pete Pernotto. I met with officials at Ft McNair and another much larger D-Day display is now being planned.

To the interwebs and infinity!

Greetings to all visitors. I'm launching this website to support my various activities including writing, historical activities, and consulting. This is not a political website but I do plan on discussing national security, technology, history, and other interest areas. I hope to blog weekly and keep things fresh. For those of you remember my previous blog Excalibur, this will have glimpses of that. "Ready Teddy" was the name of a B-24 bomber in WWII with the 380th Bomb Wing and when I flew FB-111's at Plattsburgh AFB in upstate NY, we had a jet adorned with this image. My nickname as a kid was Teddy... and I'm ready for the next chapter(s) in my life.
